This blog is a completely satisfactory method by which to inform the maximum number of friends, family and acquaintances with my glamorous existence in Istanbul. And since I usually write long articles it appears to intimidate those who might otherwise chasten me for continually forgetting phone calls on birthdays and cards at Christmas. Especially since most of you don't ever bother to write even the shortest email to me...
With the run up to the Turkish elections and in celebration of the recent opening of the Nationalist Party branch in my neighbourhood, I thought I'd add a touch more style to my look.
Men are winking at me a lot more often out in the street. In broad daylight. And in view of their wives.
